Cloud Cartographics Inc. (CLOUD) started as a service-based mapping company in 1990, concentrating on rural route readdressing and Enhanced 911 (E911) development. CLOUD changed focus in 1995 to a newly expanding market in digital cartography (digital map creation). CLOUD set new standards in cartographic printing and quickly expanded the market base. The product line featured county plat books, highway maps and state atlases. These maps were easily customized for a variety of specialty mapping products. The markets most interested in these products include government agencies, non-profits and related organizations.
Research & Development In 1998 CLOUD began a four-year, self-funded research and development phase by acquiring a local digital media company, WebKromatic (now Brain Magnet). The research and development phase initially focused on the creation of web portals, supporting online applications, and most importantly web-driven maps using CLOUD’s mapping data. This research resulted in the cutting-edge web sites and mapping applications that the company offers today. |
